A branch of the BEER family migrated from Dover to Salt Lake City, Utah, in the 1870s and, for some unknown reason, changed their name to BEERS. Today, their descendents are spread over several states, with known branches in Oregon, Washington, Minnesota and Texas.
The first family to emigrate were cabinet-maker and Freeman of Dover, Edward Tucker BEER and his wife Harriett FOREMAN.
I have had the pleasure of meeting quite a few of them on visits to Oregon in 2008, and have formed a strong bond with them.
